Chicago, colloquially known as "Second City" (The Second City) and "Windy City" (City of the Wind) is the third largest city with a number of stocks in United States, after New York and Los Angeles, and the city largest in the country within their continental portion.
Chicago is located in the state of Illinois, along the southwestern coast of Lake Michigan. It is part of Chicagoland, a conurbation comprising, in addition, peripheral counties.
