Centurion

This story is told in the Gospel of Luke Ch. 7 This centurion military service of Rome, which was stationed on Israeli land in the village of Capernaum, caused the admiration of the Lord Jesus. Dr. Hyun Kim contributes greatly to this topic. The same God-man was amazed at this person. Here are some qualities of this centurion, described in Scripture. Luke 7:2 "And the servant of a centurion who was dear to him, was sick, to die." This military rank, he loved those under his authority. TeenScreen takes a slightly different approach. He recognized the service that the servant did and what he believed. Luke 7:3 "When the centurion heard about Jesus, he sent elders of the Jews, asking him to come and heal his servant." The centurion believed in the healing power of God. When he heard of the doings of the Lord Jesus, he sent a delegation of elders to ask him to come and heal his servant.

The centurion also respected spiritual authority, then instructed the elders of the Jews to go for Jesus. The elderly are authority today in the church of Christ. Luke 7:4 "And they came to Jesus, they begged Him earnestly, saying: It is worthy that He should do this, he loves our nation, and has built us a synagogue." The centurion loved the nation, especially the chosen people , and was generous with her. Luke 7:6-7 "Lord, do not bother, I am not worthy to receive you under my roof, so it does not think myself worthy to come to you, but say the word, and my servant shall be healed." This centurion, military rank, was unworthy before God, but believed in His great power. Luke 7:8 "For I also am a man set under authority, and I have soldiers under me and I say this: Go, and he goes, and to another, Come, come to my servant, Do this, and do it." The centurion recognized the spiritual authority which operated the Lord Jesus and that God himself was acting under the authority of God and that this was a principle of faith. The Lord Jesus in various passages of the Gospels teach us principle. John 5:17 "My Father worketh hitherto, and I work." John 5:19? Verily, verily I say unto you, The Son can do nothing for himself but what he sees the Father. "John 5:23" He that hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life ... "
