Leonetto Cappiello was born in Livorno (Italy) on 6 April 1875 and died in Cannes France, on 2 February 1942. He was a painter, poster artist and illustrator of the original Italian. Headquartered in Paris at the turn of the nineteenth century, became a naturalized French in 1930, is considered, following Jules Cheret, as the renovator of the poster in France. Leonetto Cappiello he studied and published in Livorno in Italy at the age of twenty his first album of caricatures. Installed in 1898 in Paris, where he began his career as a cartoonist, he worked for many newspapers, including Le Rire, Le Sourire, L'Assiette au Beurre, Le Cri de Paris.
